I think the reason I have so few queer friends is I really do just want the standard life package (nice guy, probably kids, quiet ish life) It isn’t to say queer people don’t want that too, it’s just at least in my experience less want that than my cishet friends

Now it’s quite possible this is fugazi and there’s some unforeseen macro event on the horizon caused by something. No real evidence for it currently. If it happens I’ll be sad clearly to be wrong. As the economy stands now, things look good! Be happy!
And the last and most cope and seethe point is that because of our inflation for the first time since like 2008 our debt/GDP actually fell. Our deficit was reduced substantially. Russia, our historic enemy, has been massively globally marginalized.
I know there will be seethe and cope and pointing to ShadowStats or whatever but seriously what else could you ask for economically? Except for last year vibes and the collapse of a tech bubble, what’s exactly wrong with our economy?
Last year was painful but was unavoidable given the Russia-Ukraine war and reopening pressures. Office CRE has issues but seems fairly localized.
Even as a center left person I was a bit reluctant and voted for Biden as a not-Trump vote. The US has had the fastest recovery globally of any major nation from COVID-19. Wages are now growing faster than inflation. Unemployment is at historic lows.
Assuming we’re not heading for a recession (doesn’t seem likely), it’s time to admit — Biden has done a great job economically.
