There’s far too much happening at top speeds today - all news media used to have a department of fact checkers & researchers adding depth to stories. Who called to double check quotes, background info, etc. Those are all gone - hate to say it but it really is that. And consumers’ expectations -
fast, short form ( esp online where it amounts to reading headlines only) & sensational vs measured, accurate with objective assessment
