I get your point. For me a 14 year old is a ‘teenager’ but clearly a child, and not the same as a 16 or 17 year old. My main issue is that they are tried in military not juvenile courts, and many are detained indefinitely without trial. Again, I’m in my 50s and to me even 17 year olds are kids

I'm 48. But if most of these 'children' are 16 or 17 then they should be called teenagers.
