I use glue, but do know that nail glue *is* just differently packaged superglue, and adhesives work better with heat. One of the best tips I can give you is to spring for the glue that comes with a brush, because thin, even application on both the fake nail and the nail bed make a big difference.

Also there are lots of good tutorials out there for how to open your nail plate, but most of them recommend products I don't find necessary. Pure acetone, isopropyl alcohol, instant cuticle remover (Sally Hansen has a good cheap one), an orange stick, and a good buffing block are all you need.
