For years I remember hearing that first Bush and then Trump couldn’t be called “liars” because maybe they believed the falsehoods they were saying. Now we have this guy, who’s acknowledging that what he says is untrue - will the standards change again to prevent the press from calling him a liar?

The Vice President of course has no power like that, anyway. President Trump, acting through his DHS Secretary, tried very hard but illegally and unsuccessfully to terminate TPS for Haitians; federal courts protected Haitians’ temporary protected status via injunction during the Trump admin.
The next time I hear someone say "we aren't against immigration, we just want people to follow our laws and come here the right way," I'm going to rub their nose in this headline.
