Maybe the retailers have not been able to offer more than a 10% discount due to lower sales expectations limiting their margins. Having the government announcing a large number of public servant layoffs & new year expectations of massive council rate rises is not helping the situation. #nzpol

Nah, the shareholders just don’t want to have to wait an extra six months to upgrade their beach house / audi / boat so offer crumbs of discounts to the peasants. NZ is nothing more than an upmarket third world country with no long term vision.
