Really great article. I particularly liked how the approach was trialled with year 8 and revisited with year 9. Very responsive to the needs of the students. Also loved the idea of the Stormzy/Glastonbury lesson in the y9 enquiry

1/ 🧵 Schools in communities facing significant socio-economic challenges often struggle to achieve excellent outcomes. Despite the best efforts of educators, unique and complex barriers make it difficult to replicate the successes seen in more affluent areas.
Shout out to my y11 Citizenship class who get their results today. I picked them up just before Christmas, v low on confidence after a disrupted y10. They worked incredibly hard to get to those exams, very proud of them all 🙌🏻
