What I don’t understand about the abhorrent style of thinking OP references (especially from anyone on the left) is… every American (& other countries, but we’re talking the US here) has lived through having a president they don’t agree with. If you think like this you’re a ghoulish asshole.

(And there are Walmarts in other cities in our surrounding area. The town I grew up in got one. North Van has one. I think do have one in ‘Vancouver proper’ now and have for some time. But nothing in the downtown core)

Shower thought: When Walmart wanted to open a store in Vancouver, they were blocked. VanCity council wanted to save city space for Canadian grocery stores. But now many of those grocery stores are owned by the same company &‘almost monopoly’ means our prices are higher than even nearby cities

I partially understand the delivery req (though usually people offer $ for that) because a LOT of people just don’t have cars or a vehicle to transport furniture in. But marketplace seems to be bad for selling anything of much value, too. I think the UI discourages anyone preferring high end stuff
