A good way to think about it is this. Animation medium (Hand drawn,3d, 'puppet' ect.) does not change the amount of time good animation takes. Just workflow and challenge differences A good rig means the animator will have more room to do well, a bad rig means more time into fixing then animating.

Some of the best animated shots on tangled are people who went above and beyond. The one they show of cass and varian singing was not done on a normal 9-5, thats our talented coworker Ness putting their everything into it. A well done rig always pays off, but good animation takes forever reguardless
