Most of these people can’t drive in a few years anyways These self boomers need to sit down and get out of the way of progress. We have been left such a mess by their generation. Let the kids have their bike lane.
I really want to believe these people have legit concerns, but if you press them, it all comes down to they want free parking, to drive unrestricted, and they fear changing the status quo because the status quo is their power. It's pretty simple. These aren't well reasoned or defended positions.
Props for a really fair presentation. These folks are obviously wrong, but i appreciate that this wasnt just dunking on them—which is all a lot of online discourse is. At end of day NIMBYs are often your neighbors, friends and prolly parents. Theyre part of the community we want to better.
