I believe their extreme position on a real argument about babies born alive but with extremely short life expectancies due to congenital defects is that all measures modern medicine has to offer must be given without the devastated parents being able to opt for comfort care and DNR orders.

From some discourse I saw on the bad place right after the Trump-Biden debate, I think this is understood in "pro-life" circles as the decision to provide palliative care to babies born with conditions incompatible with life. Frighteningly, ending palliative care may be the next goal of "pro-life".

I got turned off by the "Republican or Democrat or in between" (phrased by other speakers as Rep or Dem or Independents) framing. Socialists and Communists can GTFOH I guess. Democrats, punching left since November 8, 1972.
