This year I’ve taken in an insane amount of things. But I knew they were all ‘mine’. Do you ever get that? A sense that an opportunity is yours somehow when it comes along? Anyway, they’ve all paid off one way or another. But next year… I think ‘my’ opportunity will be to focus more on less.

I know it’s considered wise to let underperforming new hires go early… but sometimes it’s even wiser to rally behind them as a team, improving processes and training to reflect their needs, therefore strengthening the whole unit. Sometimes the team wins in the success of a single member.
