Heritage Foundation’s resident self-titled “deportation scientist,” Mike Howell (perhaps more widely known for his rape threats against furry hackers) is the kind of person that you almost can’t believe is real. But he is very much a real guy with the resources of a big and powerful organization.

Whether it’s a knowing lie or bullshitting that is indifferent to the truth, we need a media that clearly states when something is untrue. I think it’s similar to trying to figure out if the Fox stars believe what they’re saying. It doesn’t really matter? Harmful either way

i did once meet a political journalist who kept what she called her "little red book" of political staffers and comms people who had lied to her and refused to talk to them for stories again but she left journalism years ago so i guess that's a good indication of where these things end up

This is why unlimited “free speech” is a dangerous thing. Allowing people to spread hatred, violence, and massive falsehoods in the name of “free speech” creates exactly the atmosphere currently in the USA.

We need a media that can spot and call out AT LEAST the most obvious lies. Journalists cannot continue to be this credulous.
