To me, the redundancy looks like a dittography of שכרו למען, with the w/r transposition and הוא subsequently inserted to soften the repetition. How can we explain the OG reading? In Ezra 3:12, ὄχλος = MT רַבִּ֛ים, so we might retrovert ἐπ’ ἐμὲ ὄχλον into Hebrew as עלי רבים 5/? #HebrewBible

The phrase עלי רבים may not look much like MT's לְמַ֤עַן שָׂכוּר֙, though the first word differs only by a transposition, +/-m, and a y/n confusion. The second word differs by a complex transposition, easy b/k and w/y confusions, and a m/sh confusion (much easier in Paleo-Hebrew script). 6/? #HebrewBible
