A reason the web looks like shit & ad blockers are mandatory is cuz sites with invasive, punishing ads don’t care about the huge disconnect between ads & user consumption so long as they get revenue from the companies that arguably SHOULD care that the way their ads are pushed makes us hate them.

Like if I was a company I wouldn’t want to pay huge amounts of money for my stuff to be pushed to people in a way that pisses them off but I think it also speaks to a larger issue that ad consumption doesn’t work like this anymore. We only trust social media posts from some person now.
