A friend of mine has 8 magic sentences 1. Wondering if you're trans is pretty fucking trans. 2. Cis people don't spend all their time wondering if they're trans. 3. HRT is magic. 4. The only treatment that works for being trans is transition. 5. Repression and denial do not work.
Those hit really hard
Probably ties in with 1 and 2, but thinking that it can't possibly be you because you don't fit the "textbook version of a trans person"? It Doesn't Matter. (This probably cost me 5 years and has made transitioning far more painful emotionally).
Seeings posts like these really help me. I posted last night about myself if you want to read it.
Repression and denial causes subconscious brain errors that manifest as depression and anxiety. Ask me how I know, 14 years of experience.
6. The best time to start has already happened. The next best time is now. 7. Refusing to begin a gender transition because you don't already feel like a man/woman is like refusing to take flying lessons because you don't already feel like a pilot. 8. twitter.com/transsalaman...
If you're under the assumption that you're a cis guy but have always dreamed of being a girl, and the only reason you haven't transitioned is because you're afraid you'll be an "ugly" girl: That's dysphoria. You're literally a trans girl already, hon.
