Me: One of the units is `mg N/(gDW h)`, which afaict is milligrams nitrogen per gram dry weight per hour. Head of Engineering: Why is the nitrogen in the units? Me: because biologists are terrible Head of Engineering: I am glad you understand biologists
Oh yeah. "What's pressure again?" "A measure of force per unit of area. Usually given in Pascals, N/M²)" "So what are the units they use to measure blood pressure?" ".... mmHg, Length of a substance."
Don’t even get me started astrophysical brightness measures! Janskys, flux, photon counts…seems like every astronomer uses something different. I myself went with magnitude and don’t wanna mess with any others! Oh, and regardless of which you do go for, they’re inconsistent between telescopes.
The canonical units for this are `mmol/(gDW h)` so that one is pretty close actually. Just divide by molecular weight. Some of the entries in this database are in `L/L` which like is incredibly unuseful. need to workout tine and density. My fav is `g/(1e6 cells min)`
