I think the real silo here is people looking at media coverage. There’s plenty of media outlets, mainstream outlets, covering all of this stuff. And yeah, back in the 90s in 2000s people were saying that they’ve never heard of stuff, this is the same conversation we’ve been having for years

In the days of TV Guide and Entertainment Weekly, I had a pretty good idea of what was coming out whether I cared or not. You had to physically page past the things you didn't care about to get to the ones you did. That gave people a decent peripheral awareness of the things they didn't care about.
