This. McSweeney has lots of admirers but none would describe him as an administrator. He left this job in opposition for that reason. His two new deputies much better at that sort of thing. But ultimately the problem is the principal.

Keir Starmer's biggest personal donor and election fundraising chief was given a security pass for No 10. Downing Street won't say why — and, despite what telling us that he had that pass on Friday, say it was handed back several weeks ago. www.thetimes.com/article/7d57...

As cronyism claims swirl around Keir Starmer, the TV mogul Waheed Alli gains access normally reserved for staff and officials

US hacks have noted similarities between Kamala Harris’ lines on migration and Keir Starmer’s. In The Times today I explain that this is no coincidence. www.thetimes.com/article/9429...

Harris’s border talk is textbook Starmer

Tough rhetoric on migration is clearest sign yet of a shared language developed between Democrats and Labour

I’ve written a column in tomorrow’s Times on Oswald Mosley’s renewed appeal to the far right — and why the left might follow them, albeit for a very different reason. www.thetimes.com/article/4301...

LEFT OUT to GET IN Gabriel Pogrund and I are writing a new book on Labour's transformation under Keir Starmer – to be published after the election Four years ago, nobody expected the party to look as it did today. We'll tell the inside story of how it happened from all sides.

My Times column from Friday explains why Sir Keir Starmer isn’t blinking on a ceasefire — and why Rachel Reeves is unlikely to be bounced into matching Tory tax cuts www.thetimes.co.uk/article/3046...

Here’s a column from yesterday’s Times about what Sue Gray has been up to — and what the Labour Party has in common with the people of Vanuatu www.thetimes.co.uk/article/sue-...

Brilliant review of Nadine Dorries’ book which @patrickmaguire.bsky.social read so that we don’t have to.
