Too many to list, so here’s one of my “fun” ones. Watching Das Boot in the mess hall of the USS Silversides with Dad @ 3AM. I was in Scouts, we were overnighting on the sub, and everybody had to do an hour of fire watch. Yes, 12”B&W TV. Yes, VHS copy. Yes, red lights were the only lights we had on.
Fun fact: the run time for The MST3K Movie is twelve minutes shorter than This Island Earth. The MST3K folks didn’t show the full riff job.
The overture is memorable. Right from the start the movie grabs you.
I watched that in a 650 seat theater, first row, all the way to the left. We got to the theater late for a sold out show, those were the only open seats for the three of us.
