It’s digital “releases” that have muted any admiration ppl have for musicians. It’s the same when a writer says they have self-published in pdf format. There needs to be an entity. Even going to the effort of releasing a cassette with hand crafted inlay card will nullify the disdain you identify.

Windy & Carl - Consciousness. Kranky Recs. have just reissued their 2001 masterpiece, still sounding every bit as magical as first time round. Sublime cosmic ambience with pulsating hypnotic rhythms and Windy Weber's haunting voice occasionally piercing the clouds with flashes of sunlit brilliance.
Butterfly numbers definitely are not dwindling in my walled garden. The brassicas were netted against birds, but the cabbage whites devastated the entire crop during the late summer. Sadly I'll have to resort to even finer mesh netting next year (needless to say we're fully organic otherwise)
I remember seeing that film on tv when it was first broadcast. Man were my favourite band back then and I managed to grab a cassette recorder and record the audio. I knew it word for word for a long while! I searched for years and was so pleased when it was finally rediscovered a couple of years ago

I wondered that, but then (e.g) the famous painting of Elizabeth, Lady Forbes by Sir Joshua Reynolds from the same period sports both lipstick and rouge
