Portland today in NW with showers scudding through in the afternoon. 7 Balearic and 3 Arctic Skua (for me) the best on the sea. A few more passerines than yesterday with one of the Tree Pipits and a Pied Fly trapped at the obs. Small Tortoiseshell now scarce on Portland. #ukwildlife 🪶#butterfly
The Bill was quieter on the sea so good day to try Weymouth. Lodmoor found this 1w Caspian Gull along with 320+ Meds, Marsh Harrier, 3 GWE (1 colour ringed but didn't get the code), Barwit, 12 Blackwit (not playing nicely), 8 Dunlin, 9 RP, Wigeon etc. #ukbirding 🪶

Canlag's just me being lazy with Canada x Greylag hybrid, which is fairly regular in ones and twos with the big feral goose flocks in autumn. Egyptian Geese are still fairly scarce but definitely increasing and now breeding n the county

Quick look at Venus Pool today - Pintail new in, 3 Ringed Plover, Common Sandpiper, Snipe, Canlag, increase in Canadas. Didn't see whatever the Pintail was checking out flying over (doubtless an interesting raptor). #ukwildlife#birds#ukbirding
