As a fun side note, I did some rough math and I'm pretty there are at least 1000+* of these tapes out there in the world! *more rough math would say a not insignificant number of those are stock orders for developers, but those still count as being out there!

Entering 2025 with the philosophy that advertising campaigns are for corporations & chumps and that I'm better off encouraging curiosity towards seeking out new art. (whatever that means and however you do that)
On top of that, from experience, I think A LOT of (most?) games don't really fit into the (mostly superficial) gif-able, streamer-ready that marketing generally revolves around.
"Every artist must be a constant promoter, online personality, brand, and PR team in addition to making the art" is wholly unsustainable and impractical. Not every piece of art needs a discord server and a Community.

except maybe the hidden goal of "can i get the Game Industry to talk about to indiepocalypse after 4.5 years?" but i think that's probably a $1mil minimum at the very least and very far from my mind (though still there)
