💯 It's why I don't watch those shows, or "comedies." (Most comedies just punch down at marginalized folks, and that's not funny to me; it's distressing.)

I think both reality TV and comedy have gotten a LOT better about this in the last 10 years or so (CBS's mandate to have at least 50% of the cast of their reality TV shows be marginalized people is really coming through) but anything older you gotta steel yourself so much sometimes.....
