While my wife’s away at a conference, I’ll get a head start on that little home reno we’ve been talking about, reconfiguring an abandoned closet into a hallway from the front hall to the back door. #ThisOldHouse “little” hahahahahahaha 20 hrs of demolition and a lot of debris later… 🤷‍♂️

On the right, a beautiful old stair case with white trim, wood treads, and a classic newel post. On the left, the walls and ceiling are stripped away, revealing old 2x4 framing and the underside of the stairs. There’s a refrigerator right in the middle of everything, blocking the access to the back door.
The same staircase seen from the side. The grand old staircase rises bottom right to top left. The stripped wall is a complicated lattice of doorways, studs, pipes, and plaster and lathe. Again, the refrigerator is right in the middle of everything, blocking the passage from front to back.
Big ol’ pile of debris on the patio in the backyard. There’s a stack of nasty wood, bristling with nails, and 7 or 8 large, white, and very heavy (trust me!) demolition bags full of yuck.
