Sad news. I used to know mostly from her great acting in the Downtown Abbey series and movies. but after having just finished the Harry Potter movies, she's was probably better in that. RIP

Maggie Smith, who won an Oscar for “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie” in 1969 and won new fans in the 21st century as the dowager Countess of Grantham in “Downton Abbey,” has died at 89.

Damn, I first saw her in Clash of the Titans.
