Indeed; I would open up a combined bookshop/brunch place that would turn into a bookshop/wine bar after 6 pm. Tentative title: Deckled Eggses.
similar concept. nice place. found some good books here too
Bad Animal is a used and rare bookshop, natural wine bar, and Thai restaurant located in downtown Santa Cruz, California.
Have lived with my bookshop/cafe dream since I a kid. I’m 50 now & no funds. I’d call it Neon Scribe, because reasons. Would have a book launch/performance space, you can read any book without buying, quite cosy spaces to write, nice cakes/coffee/bar, a fireplace & a cat.
I would *love* to open a book shop/ bakery. My name is Reed Books because the pun is built into my name 🤓
I would open an art gallery, focusing on local & under-represented artists, artisans, and crafters, with a community space for lessons, crafting circles, & discussion groups.
I would shop at or work at this place, as needed.
Staff and buyers would also be allowed to drink so customers can get ever-more unhinged book recommendations as the evening goes on.
I always wanted to open a bookstore with a cafe that also served baked to order cookies. You could get cookie flights or a whole plate for the table, freshly baked and hot. With coffee or other beverages. Maybe some pairings with cocktails/mocktails in the evening. Or just ice cold milk.
My favorite bookstore is in DC, and it sounds like you're describing it. Kramers, near DuPont Circle.
