I’m the first of my friends to go through this and people have no idea what elder care costs. Low levels of care in assisted living: $6,000 per month. Once they need more care, $8-$12k per month. Six figures, per year, per person. Doesn’t include PT or OT. Doesn’t include hospital bills or meds.
