I don’t have any insider info, but I imagine the cameos alongside PS’s 30th anniversary helped them secure the right amount of funding to make it at all.
This would make a lot of sense - and would explain a little about why a lot of it feels a bit incidental at times. And if that’s a the cost of getting a game like this done, then I’m all for it!
