“Periodic re-vaccination for COVID-19, may cause people to gradually build up a stock of broadly neutralizing antibodies that protect them from emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants and some other coronavirus species as well, even ones that have not yet emerged to infect humans.” SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS! 🧪

Repeat COVID-19 vaccinations elicit antibodies that neutralize variants, other viruses | Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis

Response to updated vaccine is shaped by earlier vaccines yet generates broadly neutralizing antibodies

I keep getting exposed to covid and not getting it. I was assuming it was due to the vaccinations. Everyone was saying the vaccinations would not protect you but all the multiply vaxxed people I know have either never had covid or only had covid one time. That's just anecdotal but I did wonder!

Anecdotally: after the flu vaccine became a regular yearly thing (earlier for me because asthma & public facing job with children) I stopped getting as many respiratory infections of any kind. Difference was striking: weeks less illness per year.

This thinking has been the impetus behind my yearly influenza vaccines

Another point. "Herd immunity" is when so few herd members are vulnerable that a virus has little chance of finding a host. Otherwise, when no one is immune, the virus runs rampant and also has an exponential opportunity to mutate. Herd immunity plus periodic re-vaccination is the whole solution.

tragically i can no longer get live vaccines for anything, so it's definitely becoming more & more a situation of PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD, VACCINATE YOURSELVES FOR EVERYONE'S SAKE. 🥲

Still frustrated at how huge the intervals *still* are in how often you can get boosters.
