It's early work was a little 'First Age' for my tastes, but when Tar-Telemmaitë came out in 2386, I think it really came into its own, commercially and artistically.

Rufus Wainwright for me, but if I hit Ctrl+Alt+V+2 it changes to Leonard Cohen.
The guy at my open mic who arrived late and performed the same Leonard Cohen song someone else had already played 20 minutes earlier.
For me, definitely Jeff Buckley's. No offense to Leonard Cohen, but Buckley's is the definitive version of the song, IMO.
Whoever did the Shrek version for me
