If you can afford to evacuate, please get out of Milton's way. If you can't, then fucking hell I don't even know. Richest nation in the world and we just leave folks to die from natural disasters.
I suggest forming an army of bandits who steal from the rich to give to the poor.
Just World Fallacy strikes again. Charity is COMMUNISM!!1! and we're supposed to be rugged individualists, beholden to none.. intractable and resilient in the face of oncoming doom.
What in the hell are you talking about? The forecast has it crossing Florida as a Cat 5/strong Cat 4 then moving east into the Atlantic. Likely the only state to be affected will be Florida. Plenty of places to go. Please don't put misinformation here. This is not Twitter. bsky.app/profile/kari...
As long as no one gets a free ride! /s
Unfortunately, I've got too many elderly family members in the area and I have to sit here. I'm going to be on the east side when it picks up speed back on it The Atlantic. Worse I'm going to be right where the worst of the winds and the rain are going to hit when it does. But I have shutters. 🤷
Fuck Milton. I'm sitting in my house prepared to shoot the clouds. Sandbag lines are MILES LONG and I have no house boards. Only thing I can do is physical retaliation. Sucks cause I'm near lakes... With gators... The ones I haven't trained...
The ones who will suffer are those who can't afford to evacuate - no transportation, no way to get pets to pet shelters or pets aren't vaxxed (needed for public shelter - vets are _expensive_, getting financial help is complicated)...😢
Yes but Helene _just_ passed 120 miles offshore and we still had a modern record _six_ feet of flooding on the barrier islands/coast. Vivid illustrations of its effects are still all over the news. Now they are predicting up to TWICE that amount. People are definitely taking this one seriously.
Even if you can't leave the state, just moving north and inland as much as possible will make worlds of difference. Get as far away from the storm surge as you can.
