The number of people Trump says he'll deport keeps going up. It's now 20 million, 50% higher than the largest estimates of the undocumented population. It's clear sign that distinguishing legal from illegal won't be a priority. They're just going to round up people they don't want to be here.
It's over, Melania.
Some of those people would be Trump supporters, or their relatives. I know this isn’t an original point, but I don’t understand how they manage the cognitive dissonance.
The less-cited Trump comment that sticks in my mind came in 2016, when he talked about going to vote, and standing in line with "so many people who it was clear should not be voting." He "knew" just by looking.
And for the folks who don't care about other humans and whose sole focus (they say) is small government and the budget, here's some interesting info about the Indian Removal Act from the National Museum of the American Indian. I'm sure this plan will go just as well. Alt text is provided.
And legal people will have what recourse in the courts?
Pretty sure he’s just making up figures that sound impressive at this point 🙃
He’s one generation off the boat himself. Who does he think he is?
The US has done this before. In June 1954, “operation wetback”, so hatefully named, involved the deportation of people viewed as Mexicans, whether they were US citizens or not
Well... my paternal grandmother was Jewish, which probably puts me on the deportation list.
He plans on going after naturalized citizens & American born citizens as well.
