Of course Mara. I do think it’s possible for them t repost the LAION dataset. But it might take a while. Of course many copies of the bag of links already exist. So realistic impact is limited to folks who did not keep a local copy of the links or the actual data files.

Frankly I’m glad to see the LAION founders do the responsible thing and remove those image links. Something they should have done before publishing however. 🤨 A BBC article mentioned Stability AI’s role in boosting CSAM — one has to wonder how much they may have profited by “overlooking” this. :(
