Spent a couple days writing out my Macchiaioli rabbit hole journey and discovered a couple of interesting things. The two artists that stick out to me are both post-Macchiaioli. Contemporary/adjacent to the Macchiaioli, there's Corot, but I'm much more interested in examining his pre-Barbizon work.

There's just something that feels really valuable about examining non-master-level work. And I didn't even realize that's what I was doing until I tried to map out my collected notes.
