A small update / correction. San Francisco is definitely NOT an outlier in the number of boards and commissions - that's actually a low number of boards 🙃 (For example, Indianapolis has a very similar number of board positions to SF)

Pelosi could count to 218 better than anyone to hold the Speakership in modern history, arguably better even than Tip O'Neill. I don't know whether that kind of training works as well in the Executive Branch as it did in the Legislative. But I sure hope we find out.
