Maybe you can't just give away an evil book of dark magic once you've traded the thing you love most for it, is all I'm saying. Maybe it comes back to you in the form most likely to make you break out of your prison and fight to regain the strength to use it.

I'm not convinced yet that Agatha really traded him for the book, but if she did, that would be an awesome twist.
