It’s may seem trivial but look at how some people react to things like Star Wars being changed. People assume that’s just a nerdy thing to do. But it’s because nostalgia and memories contribute to some sense of reality. Learning to accept change (or death) is a part of life.

Obviously I not saying people should have beloved memories ripped away from them. But there is a question about how much it is healthy to cling onto realities that don’t exist.
