yeah there’s this tendency for everyone to roll their eyes and go “same old Trump shit” - which is why there’s so little movement in his polling - but that’s really not true! his rhetoric is much worse and much more dangerous now and it’s escalating by the day
Part of it is I think, that if your aware of the dogwhistles he wasn't getting worse for a while there. he was just slowly peeling off the deniabilty. Now he's going full mask off. Salami tactics in rhetoric if you will.

Trump has been around for ~ 9 years. All his supporters already know who and what he is. It's why they support him. He's as awful as they are. The only way his poll numbers would drop is if he came out in favor of amnesty for immigrants and increased immigration.
