What Project 2025 has to say about FEMA: * Raise threshold for states' eligibility for assistance * Max federal cost-share of 25% for "small" disasters and 75% for "truly catastrophic" ones * End the National Flood Insurance Program * End grant programs (hazard mitigation, emergency shelters, etc.)

Fun fact: Greene is currently the second-ranking Republican on the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Accountability. The chair, Dan Bishop (R-NC), is not running for re-election to Congress this year. More likely than not she'll become chair if Rs retain the House.

A lie with a billion dollars behind it is stronger than the truth. Peter Thiel has shut down Gawker.com.

On Trump excluding the WH Counsel from a meeting about the fake electors scheme: "It is hard to imagine stronger evidence that conduct is private than when the President excludes his White House Counsel and only wishes to have his private counsel present."On Trump excluding the WH Counsel from a meeting about the fake electors scheme: "It is hard to imagine stronger evidence that conduct is private than when the President excludes his White House Counsel and only wishes to have his private counsel present."

The officer was fined $500 and lost 60 vacation days, "which is worth about $25,000 in pay." He was also placed on modified duty. I'm trying to imagine any other profession in which you could use company resources to harass a private citizen for the better part of a year and still have a job.

A study measured the performance of 800 developers before and after getting GitHub's Copilot. It found: - No change in productivity - No change in burnout levels - A 41% increase in the bug rate!?? Aren't you thrilled we're burning the world to power these AI models?

Devs gaining little (if anything) from AI coding assistants

Code analysis firm sees no major benefits from AI dev tool when measuring key programming metrics, though others report incremental gains from coding copilots with emphasis on code review.

Dude is 24?! 😵‍💫 Also, real family of winners…

In 2022, a probe by the U.S. military found that Victor Krvaric, a Marine, had engaged in misconduct. The Marines had investigated whether Krvaric, who was at that point a 21-year-old reservist, had tried to join the neo-Nazi group Patriot Front.
These charges come on the heels of years of scandals for the Krvaric family, including the discovery that another son of Tony Krvaric's, Oliver Krvaric, had attended the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection at the United States Capitol, and the resurfacing of a video that Tony Krvaric made years before, featuring swastikas and images of Adolf Hitler.
