Right! There is mystery, hard to grasp, the "paradoxes" point to it. We are SLOW. We are HERE. We are NOW. We get space. We get time. Why on earth should they combine this way?? Life as a v<<c creature ☀️ I guess it is like the mystery of QM wavefunctions, life as a decoherent (?) creature?
Incredible that he wrote that in 1908 & yet during my studies, at good schools, the "paradoxes" of special relativity were presented as paradoxes - the twins! One accelerates & that is why they are younger - true! But an impairing & opaque way of learning the lessons of special relativity...

I feel like the mark of a truly modern physicist is she who thinks of spacetime, not space and time distinctly. I was not able to do this until listening to "Space, Time & Motion" by Sean Carroll during a bout of insomnia. I still must consciously put them together - no old paradoxes - in my mind.
