Oh he was totally “illegal”. OPT only happens if you graduate; CPT requires you being in school which we know he dropped out of and didn’t leave the US in 10 days. There’s no way he could have been in status.

I know it’s not the point, but dude Katrina memories. I remember 2 pieces of mail I got after. 1) a jury summons for the 5th circuit the day it reopened and 2) a plastic bag of minimally damaged mail that was immediately thrown out. These both made it to my suburban house in December.

So I’m tired of holding my arms up to defuse my curly hair, so I’m going back to the drying hood. Between this and the silk bonnets, I’m just a weekly appointment from being my grandmother.

It did take us ages to get service on cell phones after Katrina even outside of the area- my cell sucked even in Illinois. I’m sure it’s even worse now that everything is VOIP. Best ways to get through was SMS.
