Even better one... Boca Chica Texas, where SpaceX has their launch facilities, is on the same line of latitude as North Miami Beach

So Retatrutide does something we've never seen before. It INCREASES GFR in your kidneys. This data was released earlier in the year and it's lived rent free in my head since then. A drug that increases GFR would be astonishing. That it also causes all the other benefits would be even more so.

Trial data graphs showing an increase in GFR in obese non-diabetic patients by about 10 points.

I agree. Ozempic/Wegovy just isn't prescribed in enough patients plus it's weight loss %tile isn't great enough for many severely obese patients. Tirzepatide can do more but it's been out for only 2 years. Retatrutide will be the game changer in 2026 w/ bariatric surgery level weight loss expected

Believe me it's not gonna happen. The drugs in late trial now like retatrutide and orflorglipron are still heavily skewed towards diabetes first and weight loss second when you look at the trials they're running

Also when I say unprecedented, I mean we've never had a drug that improved GFR....like ever. This could be groundbreaking for prevention of chronic kidney disease or at minimum preservation of renal function in already diseased kidneys. We'll know more in late 2025 when more results are released

Studies are ongoing but some possible reasons include that retatrutide induces mild nutritional ketosis and that may be helping the kidneys, as it can used a fuel source and reduces renal inflammation. Really fascinating, cutting edge science 🤓🤓 www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles...

Ketone Body Metabolism in Diabetic Kidney Disease

Ketone bodies have a negative image because of ketoacidosis, one of the acute and serious complications in diabetes. The negative image persists despite the fact that ketone bodies are physiologically...

When I plotted out my labs, I found the same thing. My GFR increased once I started taking the drug and it's still elevated since then. The exact mechanism is unknown. But there's a few hints. Our kidneys have glucagon receptors and we don't know their full purpose.
