For those cross about throwing soup at paintings - one reason might be that protests like the Restore Nature Now march, far bigger than any Tommy Robinson march, received no BBC national news coverage - it was peaceful, delightful, full of joy thus not newsworthy
No jail terms for those running companies that knowingly damage the environment and with repercussions which will cost vastly more than repairing a frame www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Just Stop Oil activists Phoebe Plummer and Anna Holland threw tomato soup over Van's Gogh's piece.
Spot on. The same seems to be true for trans protests. Either no coverage, or coverage for the violence and conflict. Make it make sense. The media has an awful lot to answer for.
Did it involve a relatively small, declared gift from a longtime donor who happens to be gay, and brown? A teenager studying at a friend's place, for peace and quiet? A performative MP resignation? How about a former PM promoting a book with a fantasy about invading a NATO ally? 🤔 Well then...
It's kind of astonishing how many people are proudly displaying their tone-policed-brainworms in response to this as if it were an argument. It doesn't take much thought to realise if you *really* wanted climate protest to stop being transgressive you would stop ignoring the non-transgressive kind. It's kind of astonishing how many people are proudly displaying their tone-policed-brainworms in response to this as if it were an argument. Thanks for flagging the march. It was indeed joyous, with many of my friends who had never engaged in protests/marches before joining with their children....and enjoying it more than they had anticipated.
We don't place any value on nature. If we did, the billionaires would start hoarding it. Ok, I guess that is to some extent what "country estates" are all about. But these aren't about conservation. Take what was shared, privatize it, keep the "oiks" off and watch the asset values clime.
As with so many anti-Brexit marches. Instead, people see oil and gas lobbyists all over party conferences and invited to policy meetings. We need a national and inclusive debate on decarbonisation and future policy.
