Brooms and rakes work amazingly well (especially brooms). Just sayin'.
It's a shame people feel the need to remove everything (grass, leaves) from their lawns. Soil carbon gets lost over time (oxidizes,erodes). If you don't replace it, you're destroying your soil quality. You'll have a less healthy lawn. Don't do that. Fertilizing doesn't fix it. It doesn't add carbon

I feel like part of the problem is people designing gardens that require an enormous about of energy to maintain. Trees and lawns are not a good combination…
Counterargument: raking leaves is like, actual work
Another thing about leafblowers (particularly when deployed on gargantuan lawns for multiple hours) is that they are guaranteed to inspire murderous rage in at least one of your neighbors, so my friends tell me.

yesterday I saw a guy leaf blowing in a mask and i thought he was in a halloween costume because it was kinda scary and weird in a place with no leaves how does a leaf blower produce that much exhaust?! Are they optimized for inefficiency?
