So Birmingham Hospitals was "at full capacity" earlier this week with risks to #patientsafety - but no incident was declared - yet it told consultants they had to give up their SPA time to help move patients through the hospital. SPA time is short for 'supporting professional activties'

This might (*might*) be because the new Midlands Metropolitan hospital is moving patients in very soon and another one locally closing. Perhaps a temporary dip in capacity before an increase.
