I love the week b/t Christmas & New Year’s because it’s the time when I do nothing, plan nothing, and feel zero guilt about not being productive. Today I slept in, went to a coffee shop, a bookstore, ate two slices of cake and watched a movie in the middle of the day. Big Retirement Energy!
I am very tardy to this but thank you! I did not know there was a new Sheila Heti!!!

the rules at the new york times: you can't sign a letter in support of palestine even if you are technically a freelancer. you CAN write in the news pages that protesting the war on gaza is an example of conservatives being right about left-wing fanaticism
Yesterday, I finished This Book Won’t Burn by @samiraahmed.bsky.social. Thx NCTE & Ahmed! It was SO GOOD! The small town Noor moves to is believable, and not everyone is white, cishet, or into banning books, and it felt hopeful in the face of so many recent book bans across the country. 📚👍
Ahhh!!! Yay!!! Thank you!
I loved this so much, Kelly. Thank you for sharing your heartbreaking, hopeful, fierce story. Sending lots of love your way.
