You can't earn the right to massacre civilians. You can't earn the right to bomb apartment buildings full of families with kids. You can't deserve to rape and kidnap people or to drop white phosphorus bombs on cities.

This warped logic was the excuse for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. America spent trillions on war, instead of funding education and health care and infrastructure, because people thought they were owed something for their pain. What they got for it was half a million corpses.
