All rather demotivating for the next cohort to join the workforce. What's the point of grafting to become a millionaire if you still have to do chores?

Thank you (& all the authors!) for writing this. I was bombarded w/ all the same pronouncements from year 1 & struggled for years bc of shaming around my preferred path. Now I live a life I love & try to let all doc students I meet know there are far more options than what they hear from advisors.
