Shitty people have realized that the former Twitter isn't a place where they can have "fun" anymore, so they're going to where they can antagonize others. "Don't Engage, Just Block" is a good first step here. And don't wait for them to be shitty to you, block 'em when they're shitty to others.

The problem for Parker is that she's an immediate target of these assholes, so they hit her before they get blocked. Hopefully as they realize that they can't stir shit up like on twitter it'll stop happening. The only solution for people like Parker would be a feature to limit who can reply.

I agree that blocking immediately is good but the larger problem is that if every time you log in you have to block shitty people at what point does it simply not become worth it to keep logging in?

No mercy, no quarter. Also, I keep remembering a Twitter joke I saw once that's like "You're mocking me for blocking you? Yeah, dude, it took like 3 seconds and 2 clicks, and I'd do it again, because I barely had to think about it."

As a (pleasantly) tiny account, I block when I see someone being rude in the replies of bigger accounts I follow. What I learned is that it’s often the same person being rude replying to multiple big accounts, which makes blocking them an efficient use of my time.

Agree 100%. Learned over time that trolls and bullies don’t want to engage and reasoning doesn’t work. Best thing to do is block. 1 strike, you’re out. Maybe it’s a tough line but can be the best way to keep social media a fun place to be.
